A few people have asked me where I got the name ARD~TYR from. So what better place to explain =)
I have been using this label for as long as I can remember. Anything I created I would sign it with this label, including all my school art assignments.
It has two parts. ARD is my initials, well my old initials before I was married and took my husbands name. But I didn’t feel the need to change the last letter. If I did it wouldn’t flow as well. so ARD it stayed. TYR is the name of a Norse god I took a shine too as a young teenager. He is the god of law and justice, and his tale is one of strength, sacrifice, and the idea of you do what you need to for the greater good. This story in Norse mythology was something I really related to as a teenager whilst I was discovering myself. It made up the basis of my personal moral guidebook I set for myself to live by.
I then put them together to make ARD~TYR. When you say it out loud, as if it is one word it actually sounds like “artier” which seemed appropriate signature for artwork.
So that is where the name ARD~TYR comes from =)
